When the humidistat detects high humidity in the room, this will trigger the fan to start automatically, regardless of whether the fan is switched on at the wall. A fan with a timer can be set to run after it has been switched off. The adjustable time is from 2 minutes to 30 minutes, meaning that humid air from a bathroom will continue to be extracted after someone has left the room.
